Another hard day

Sunday was a hard day but I expected to be. See we had to attend my brother in law and his wife's baby shower. From the moment I found out about it (which was only 2 days before) I was anxious, I knew it would bring up a lot of emotions. After church and lunch we still had to go by a gift. From the moment I walked in the baby store I was nervous. After we printed out the register and started to walk down the aisle I felt on overwhelming emotion and just started to break down. L was very understanding and supportive and offered to take me back home but I knew I had to get through it because we still had to go to the shower later that afternoon. I just tried to concentrate on the girl stuff. I couldn't even make eye contact with L or look at the boys stuff.

I didn't really leave L side from the moment we arrived at the shower. It honestly helped that I didn't know a whole lot of people there, no one to feel pity for me or ask how I was doing. I pretty much just kept to myself, watched the guys play pool and only came inside when they were opening presents but even then I just stayed in the back with L.
At this point I don't know if I'll ever be able to see baby boy stuff without crying or go to a shower for a friend and not be an emotional mess. I have a good friend in Chattanooga who is due a week after I was and is having a boy, I guess that will be my test of whether I can handle myself.

The Blur In Between

This is alot of random info but it kinda gives you an idea of what had been going on.

Afternoon of March 24th. I had just gotten home from my blood work and I began to bleed, it only lasted a few mins but Liridon rushed home and I called my Ob. They prescribed me progesterone cause my levels were low and scheduled me to see the on call doctor in the morning. I just slept all day.

The 25th we went in and had an ultra sound and got to see and hear our baby for the first time. Everything was fine, they didn't know why I had bleed and they scheduled me another appointment to see my actually doctor the following week.

Saturday March 29th we ended up telling my in-laws that we were pregnant because of some drama at L's birthday party and I was getting all worked up. They were over the moon happy. (that was actually the first time my father in law has ever told me he loved me)

April 12th my in laws surprised us by coming to Chattanooga to help us move back home to Monroe. Since I couldn't do much it was so much help. We put all of our stuff in a storage unit and stayed at my parents.

Sunday April 13th we had gotten home from church. I was standing on the back porch at my parents house watching Liridon cut the grass. I suddenly started bleeding again. I called for Liridon and went up stairs to lay down and take a nap.

The following week on the 17th I had my last appointment with my amazing Ob in Chattanooga, luckily me and the hubs were both off work that week so we drove back up 75 one last time. At 14 weeks along we were hoping to maybe find out what the gender was, we knew it was early.
I could tell something was off in the ultrasound. As we waited in the examination room for my doctor I just got more nervous but didn't let on to Liridon. when she finally came in she got straight to the point. She of course started out with the worst but at the end she said she believed it was just fluid on the brain and scheduled me an appointment with a specialist that day. So we left the office not really knowing what to think and drove to the specialist. That was probably the worst experience I've ever had with a doctor, the ultrasound tech made me very uncomfortable physically and the doctor was just very harsh. We left there that day with no answers and I slept most of the way home as Liridon drove. Over the next couple days I came to term with as long as this baby has a heartbeat and I felt fine then this was all going to be okay.

Sunday April 20th Easter. We finally told my mom and older sister D that I was pregnant. We did fill them in on the complications we were having. They were happy and supportive.

Friday May 2nd I spent the night at my Twin sister house and told her I was pregnant, this is the one person I was most scared to tell because she and her husband have been trying for a while with no luck. She was actually excited and we stayed up talking about baby stuff.

On Tuesday May 6th I had my first appointment with my new Ob here in GA. Everything seemed good, we were hoping to find out the sex but they just did the doppler to check the heart beat, they mostly were just looking for history.
On the 12th they called and told me that they scheduled my 20 week anatomy ultrasound on the 27th at the specialist office, because they had better machines to see more since something hit on my last blood work and I'm guessing they probably got my records from my ob in Chattanooga.

Sunday May 11th Mothers Day
I was enjoying my first unofficial mothers day, we were talking about finding out what the baby was, and what everyone thought it might be. Planning the gender reveal party that we would have June 1st.

Homecoming!

I've been absent the past week, still trying to get use to managing my time better (I've had this problem since Kindergarten) but I had to post tonight real quick with some exciting news...

After 7 months my cousin is back home from his second deployment!
Arrived safe and sound this morning at home in NC.
Very excited for my cousin, their little girl and the rest of the family along with all the other Marine families that got their loved ones back today.
They will be spending a couple weeks at home then headed down here to GA so the rest of the family can celebrate his homecoming in person.

Seeing each other for the first time.

I try to thank God everyday for the brave men and women who fight for this country and especially for the ones so close to home. Now only about 3 more months til one of my besties Whit's hubby comes home :-)

Keep this family and everyone else who is still over seas in your prayers.

DRAMAAAA!

They drain every ounce of energy out of my body, I feel more exhausted after a hour with them than 48 hours of no sleep. You know the type, the ones who feed off of drama. They live for it, they like to cause it, they like to stick their nose in others people's and they love stirring the pot!

I've had my fair share this past weekend and I'm over it, over them! I've never been afraid of writing people out of my life for a good reason and I won;t be thinking twice this time. I'm 25 years old, I don't need these types of "friends" in my life. I have enough going on right now I don't need their added stress and drama. A professor of mine told me this once and I've always remembered it: "People are either wind in your sails our anchors on your tail"

This whole drama was something that was building between my husband and BIL, it's along story but the gist of it is: BIL was mad at hubby for something that happened 2 weeks ago outside of work, so he tried to get hubby in trouble at work on Thursday which almost cost hubby a week off work without pay. And then M blew up on me Sunday cause I said something to my parents about it (only because my mom wanted L to do something for her this week and I said he might be wide open and they wanted details).   I'm not claiming to know the whole story but messing with someones income is just messed up! And  9 out of 10 times I'm going to take my husbands back, even if he's wrong! (which he wasn't in this case)

During the mist of the drama unfolding it is brought to light that L's boss that he trusted with his secret of joining the Navy told my sister and BIL (the three of them work together). We have been very careful of the people we have told this news to 1) because we still aren't sure about all the details and 2) because it's still in the beginning stages we only want positive people who will encourage this decision to know.

So that's where we are now, neither one of us talking to each other and as sad as that is I'm okay with it for now. Hopefully things get worked out and we can all tolerate to be in the same room as each other and maybe even go back to hanging out since we do have alot of the same friends but for now family functions/ church might be a little awkward.

Weekend Whereabouts!

Friday:
Shopping with K, new dress for $15, "last day of summer break" swim party at D's, hanging with my extended family, asleep by 10!

Saturday:
Up at 10, showered, dressed, packed and out the door by 11, in Athens by 12, doing updo's for 3.5 hrs.
I had about 2.5 hrs to waste and still needed to touch up my makeup and change clothes, so I meet up with M who was already at the venue with BIL/groomsman.
So we: sat in the car, did our makeup, I changed and fixed my hair. then we sat around the chapel and watched the bridal party take pictures and I was blowing up L's phone because he was running late and not answering. And then finally the wedding started.
It was a beautiful and amazing wedding. I don't know two people more meant for each other than Beau and Nikki. It was only the second wedding Hubby and I have gone to since our own so even though I was mad a L for being late it was still very surreal to sit there with my husband. And it was very nice not to have to get on the dance floor and pretend like I cared to catch the bouquet!
The reception was really nice as well. The food was delicious even if I did eat something that I thought was spinach artichoke dip but then turned out to be bacon blue cheese dip (barffff) and L went home early cause he wasn't feeling good.
I didn't get home til after 12 and went straight to bed. It was a long and exhausting day but all in all it was wonderful.
The one picture I have of the happy couple taken back in Oct 2010

Sunday:
L still not feeling good, I went to church and lunch with K and my parents. Went back to parents to do K's hair, caught up with Mom, got back home at 4:30 and soon after drama unfolded (more on that later), dinner, L went to bed at 10 and I'm sitting here watching tv and blogging and getting excited about my first day back at work tomorrow.

This weekend was full of ups and downs. Filled with family, friends, and the joining of two lives forever and I'm so glad I was a part of it!

Hope Y'all had an equally great and blessed weekend!

Weekend Whereabouts!

Happy Independence Day!

Friday night was spent with my sister D. We went to Assi Market and got some sushi and walked around the market. If you've never mean it's a great Asian market but it has the same produce you would buy at a regular grocery store but for a really good price. I found the cutest snow cone maker that I bought for my niece. (I had a Snoopy one when I was her age) Then headed back to her place and made snow cones and went swimming.

Saturday was spent with L driving to the Ga/Ala state line to get fireworks (since you can't buy decent ones here in GA) and I stayed home and watched movies and somewhat got a few things accomplished.

Sunday we slept in and then headed back to my sister for some quality family time, more snow cones, swimming and doing some hair. (I was supposed to do my mom's but she was late as usual so after an hr of waiting I went ahead and got in the pool)

Monday morning was spent my getting annoyed by my mom cause once again she was over an 1.5 late. We where supposed to be at my old neighborhood by 2, but we didn't get there til 4! I spent the first 14 years of my life in this neighborhood and every 4th from before I was born we do the same thing. small parade, cook-out, swim and just hang out. When we were younger and lived across the street it was definitely more fun. We  would play flashlight tag, shoot off bottle rockets, and make homemade ice cream. But we have all grown up and some of us moved away. I'm went mainly because it's tradition.

Land I only  stayed for a little bit, then heading to our "normal" weekend hang out, The Creek. We (I) had a few drinks, watched a movie (Hall Pass, pretty funny) and shot off  our over $200 worth of illegal fireworks. (but of course I forgot to take pictures til about half way through) besides L burning a hole in his shirt and me burning my boob (I think I might have a scar to remember this 4th) with bottle rockets, it was alot of fun.

L's burnt shirt, it's sideways but you get the point.
I'm not goint to put up a pic of my boob...Your Welcome!

Hope Y'all had a fun and safe 4th of July!

Best one of the night

Weekend Whereabouts!

Well it being a holiday weekend, this Monday isn't so manic, so I'm going to do my first Manic Monday on Tuesday and fill y'all in on the weekend today.

This is a long one and gets a little tedious at some points but this is me and I want to share my whole self.

I love long weekends cause it gives me more time to spend with my hubby. He works hard to support us so he usually comes home, takes a nap, eats dinner and goes back to sleep. So weekends are our time together, so I'll gladly take an extra day now and then.

Our long weekend started with Friday afternoon when I finally got home from lunch and shopping with my mom. I met L at Macaroni Grill for dinner, we caught up with some old friends that still work there from back in the day when I did and had a really good time. When we got home that night we went out to the pool and swam for a couple of hours and crashed pretty early that night. We are such an old married couple sometimes!

Saturday we got up early and L headed over to my parents to finish sanding my new desk (transformation to come). I waited for my family to come pick me up cause when Mom and I went shopping Friday she found a dinning room table she wanted, so she was bring Dad out to see it on Saturday and of course everyone else had to tag along. So once we finally got done buying the table we went to lunch. After lunch we decided to go past Megan and Jeremy's new house because I'm the only one who didn't get to see it the first time. When we got there we kind of broke in let ourself in, had a look around, and measured all the rooms. I really like the house and can't wait to help her decorate! We spent almost 3 hours at the house, cause it turns out that after they had put the offer on the house Megan found out that a friend of hers from Piedmont College lives right across the street, so her and her husband come over for a bit. When we finally got to my parents house, Megan, Katie and I decided to head to Mall of GA to do some shopping for me, I didn't find anything so we decided to go to the furniture stores then had "dinner" at TuttiFruitti, a self serve frozen yogurt place, it was some good quality sista time. I ended up staying the night at my parents in participation for Sunday. After L finished with my desk he spent the rest of the day with his brother and friends.

Now here comes the highlight of the weekend Sunday Funday!!
Megan& Jeremy, L and I got up early to head to Lake Occone to spend a fun weekend on the lake with some old friends. Barrett & Ashely were outside waiting for us!  The boys started out the morning at 10:30 with jagerbombs and the girls took a tour of the new addition to the Harris house. After blowing up the floats and getting the coolers ready we headed out for a quick little ride on the boat waiting for the rest of the group to get there. Once W&J got there we went back out to the sandbar and once it got to crowded we drove back to the cove the house is in and swam there til lunch. After lunch we hooked up the rafts and went out once again, we only did that for about a hour til Lauren & Grant got there. I hadn't seen them since our wedding and was very happy they had made the drive considering all that they were going through. B took the new group out for a while and L, A and I swam out into the cove, talked and caught up for a while. L&G are getting married in November so we were talking wedding stuff, ever since my wedding 7 months ago I still have the planning itch so I guess it's good that I have so many friends getting married, lol. We left after dinner and got home really late but we had so much fun and wish we could go it more often, maybe we can this summer!

Our extra day together Monday. again another boring old couple day but it's the kind I love and greatly appreciate after a busy weekend like we had. We slept in, picked up a late lunch, layed around watching TV and talking, accidental took a nap, laid around some more. We had planned on going out to the pool but it was really crowded and L got a little to much sun at the lake and didn't feel like being out in the heat again today. We had dinner and L has since gone to bed and I'm just trying to finish this long weekend blog so I too can go to bed.

This weekend had it's up and downs but it's the kind of love, spent with friends, family and the one person I love the most. Hope everyone else had a fun and safe Memorial Day weekend. Thanks to the troop of past and present fighting for us, especially my cousin Glen and one of my favorite people W's husband Robert who are over seas right now. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your families daily.
