Our Love Story

The Story of Me and the Mr.

I absolutely love this song. I think it describes me and L's journey perfectly. He is a Back Woods Boy, born in the woods of Kosovo and I'm a Fairytale Princess... but in good ol' GA we simply call them Southern Belles. We haven't had the easiest relationship but we are as strong as ever.

It all started 8 years ago...Here's our story...

I took a job waiting tables at a local restaurant in Loganville in May of 2005, L had already been working there for a couple of months as a dishwasher. I don't remember the exact date we meet but I remember my first impression of him, he was WEIRD! lol
If you knew or had seen L back in the day you would have agreed with me. He had a big fro that covered almost half his face, I could barely see his eyes at the time. He he always wore mismatched basketball jerseys and shorts at the time (needless to say I have since changed his wardrobe). He barely talked and he had a strange unusually original name.

L's hair at the longest it's ever been. He had gel in it other wise it would have been a fro (it's longer now)

You can kinda see one of the jerseys he use to wear all the time

After about a month, we started talking and getting to know each other more. We are both very sarcastic and jokesters. Well one day I was standing around the kitchen, he was making fun of me and I had a steak knife in my hand, so I told him I was going to cut him. He stuck out his finger I guess thinking that I wouldn't do anything... but I did! (don't worry it was barely a flesh wound, it didn't even bleed). Looking back I can say that's probably where it all began.

About 2 weeks later he came in to pick up his last pay check cause he was leaving that job, I went out on a limb and invited him to a party I was having, he told me he had to work that night at his new job but  gave me his number. When I got home that night I got up the nerve to call him and ended up talking on the phone for 3 hrs.
The next night my sisters and their boyfriends were at the house hang out watching movies. I ended up locking myself in my parents closet (it's the only place in the house that's quiet) and we talked on the phone for 4 hrs.
The day after that he came over to my parents house and we hung out, watched a movie and had our first kiss!
For our first official "date" we went to the movies, and saw "Batman Begins".
On July 23, 2005 we "officially" started dating.

For Christmas 2006 I surprised him with our first fur baby Sadie.

All grown up

On October 10, 2009 L proposed in Helen, GA. He had surprised me with a weekend away, he rented a cabin and planned the whole thing with out me knowing. On Saturday we hiked up to Anna Ruby Falls, I kinda had a feeling that something was going to happen, and I didn't want it to be in front of all those people. So when we got to the top, I sat down on one of the benches and waiting til we could get someone to take our picture. Once we got a picture taken I walked off and sat back down. When he came over to me I stood up and said lets go back down. He kinda hesitated and said okay. When we got down to the bottom I decided to go down one of the trails that ran by the little river and sat on a picnic table. We sat there for a few minutes and I was watching the water and these guys fish, when I looked back over at L he was down on one knee and of course I said Yes!

We had planned for an outdoor wedding on a lake, everyone was telling me I needed a back up plan if the weather was bad, but I told them I don't need a plan B, I had faith!
And on a beautiful fall day October 23, 2010 we tied the hitch! (inside joke)

We've gone through a lot in our relationship. We've had our ups and downs but we always come out on the other side stronger and closer. We had people trying to break us down and tear us apart but we stuck it out because we believe that God put us in each others life for a reason. It really is nice to prove them wrong! He truly is my best friend, the love of my life, and I could imagine spending one day with out him.
... And they lived Happily Ever After...
All fairytales end that way:  Boy meets girl, They fall in love, They get married, The end.
But real love stories don't have endings!
